RE: Municipal Sewer Connection, 341 Westlake Street
Dear Mr. Feerhusen:
The Stubbs Bay Sanitary Sewer Project is underway, which will
provide sanitary sewer to the subject property. That sewer
project is anticipated to be complete and ready for connections
in late Fall 1992 or early Spring 1993 .
Attached to this letter is a recently enacted ordinance regarding
the time frame available for connection.
Regarding the connection, each property owner must hire a
contractor to make the sewer connection between the house and the
stub which is extended to the property line. Whichever
contractor the property owner chooses will have to obtain a
$30.50 sewer connection permit. Before the contractor can obtain
that permit, the property owner must pay to the City the Sewer
Availability Charge (SAC) which for 1992 is $700.00, but which
the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission normally increases each
year. The SAC charge payment is passed on directly to the MWCC.
Once sewer is available, unconnected properties will pay a $24.30
quarterly service charge until connected, then that will increase
to $51.15 per quarter once the connection has been made.
