Dear Mr. Oman:
Last spring I called and chatted with you about the possibility of our using a sun porch kit
(see enclosed sheet)to install on our already existing deck. We would use a 10 X 12 kit,
which would only use up part of the square footage of our deck, would go no closer to the
lake than we already are, and would not hinder the view of the lake for any of our
neighbors. At that time, you told me we would not need a permit to do such a project,
and we could go ahead.
We are now ready to proceed with this, and just wanted to verify with you in writing that
it is, indeed, permissible.

RE: SUN PORCH KIT
Dear Mr. &Mrs. Harrer
This letter is in response to your letter of 09-12-05. The City will not require a permit for
a screen structure that has only screen and frame for a roof. Once a roof is added then
building code requirements for snow loads and other items must be complied with and a
permit would be required. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at my
office.
