On October 28-29, 1982 and November 13-14, 1982 six lots
were tested to determine what type of drainfield would be
possible on each of the lots . Three perco],ation holes were
tested on each lot and one soil boring. ilt the time a house
, is to be constructed, some additional testing will be needed
but the testing done now gives a very good indication what
type of system can be used on the primary drainfield site .
The percolation holes were dug 6 inches in diameter to
the )1.2 inch depth while the soil borings were dug 6 inches
in diameter to the 4 foot depth and 3 inches in diameter to
' the remaining depth.
An average percolation rate of 27.4 minutes per inch on
lot 2 with no high water table would allow a standard system.
Lots 12 and 13 are to be combined and had an average rate of
20.7 minutes per inch but because of a possible high water
table, a shallow trench system should be used. Lots 16 and 17
were also combined and had an average rate of 25.0 minutes

per inch with no high water table which would allow a stand-
ard system. Lot 18 had a lot of black loam with some heavy,
wet clay soils underneath and had an average percolation rate
of 48.7 minutes per inch. A shallow trench system will be
needed with black loam brought over the trenches for cover.
Also, it would be helpfull if some grading was done or a pond
made to keep the runoff water to the north side of the lower
flat area and away from the drainfield area.

Lot 23 had an average percolation rate of 38.2 minutes
per inch. Although a standard system can be used, the trench-
es should be no deeper than 3 feet deep in the natural soil.
Lot 2L. had an average rate of 50.0 minutes per inch which is
close to the limit of 60 for a standard system. Thus, a stan-
dard system is likely although a fourth hole for the primary
site will need to be tested later and depending on it 's rate
a mound system could be required. Also, if the house is pos-
iftioned such that another area has to be tested, the rates
could vary.
