Dear Mr. and Mrs. Albertson,
It has been brought to my attention that you recently questioned a notice that you had received
regarding the certification of delinquent bills owed to the City. I have looked into the matter and
have determined that you should not have received this notification.
The City annually sends property owners with delinquent bills a notification that the amount
owed to the City will be certified to Hennepin County for collection with property taxes. While
your property did have an outstanding invoice, it was certainly not delinquent. An error made by
the Finance Department resulted in the notice being sent to you. I would like to assure you that
this outstanding invoice will not be certified to the County for collection with your 2012
property taxes.
Please accept my sincere apologies for the error and the frustration that it caused you. We have
reviewed our procedures to prevent this type of issue from occurring in the future. If you have
