1. INSTALL SILT FENCE ON DOWNSTREAM SIDE OF PROPOSED INFILTRATION
BASINS.
2. REMOVE EXISTING PIPE TO UPSTREAM SIDE OF INFILTRATION BASIN.
3. EXCAVATE INFILTRATION BASINS TO MINIMUM VOLUMES.
4. LINE BASIN WITH EROSION CONTROL BLANKET AND MONITOR BASIN DURING
THE SPRING DURING SNOW MELT AND SPRING RAIN EVENTS TO ENSURE NO
EROSION IS OCCURING.
5. ONCE WEATHER ALLOWS, REMOVE EROSION CONTROL BLANKET, PLACE
BIORETENTION SOIL AND PLANT RAIN GARDEN PLANTINGS.
6. REMOVE SILT FENCE ONCE FINAL STABILIZATION HAS OCCURED.

RAIN GARDEN CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCING
1. Install appropriate temporary erosion control devices to prevent sediment from leaving or entering the practice during construction.
2. All down -gradient perimeter sediment control bmp's must be in place before any up gradient land disturbing activity begins.
3. Perform continuous inspections of erosion control practices, especially after each rainfall event.
4. Install all utilities prior to setting final grade of bioretention device.
5. Rough grade the site.
6. Complete, stabilize, and vegetate all other site improvements.
7. Construct and vegetate bioretention device following stabilization of contributing drainage area. Ensure that critical elevations, such as underdrain invert, top of media, top of mulch, and invert of overflow structure (if present)
are correct.
8. Remove temporary erosion control devices after the contributing drainage area is adequately vegetated.
GENERAL NOTES
1. In the event that sediment is introduced into the bmp during or immediately following excavation, this material shall be removed from the practice prior to continuing construction.

STAND OF GRASS IS OBTAINED. SEE LANDSCAPE PLAN FOR PLANTING AND
TURF ESTABLISHMENT.
4. ALL SLOPES SHALL BE GRADED TO 4:1 OR FLATTER, UNLESS OTHERWISE
INDICATED ON THIS SHEET.
5. CONTRACTOR SHALL UNIFORMLY GRADE AREAS WITHIN LIMITS OF GRADING
AND PROVIDE A SMOOTH FINISHED SURFACE WITH UNIFORM SLOPES BETWEEN
POINTS WHERE ELEVATIONS ARE SHOWN OR BETWEEN SUCH POINTS AND
EXISTING GRADES.
6. SPOT ELEVATIONS SHOWN INDICATE FINISHED PAVEMENT ELEVATIONS &
GUTTER FLOW LINE UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED, PROPOSED CONTOURS ARE
TO FINISHED SURFACE GRADE.
7. CONTRACTOR SHALL DISPOSE OF ANY EXCESS SOIL MATERIAL THAT EXISTS
AFTER THE SITE GRADING AND UTILITY CONSTRUCTION IS COMPLETED. THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL DISPOSE OF ALL EXCESS SOIL MATERIAL IN A MANNER
ACCEPTABLE TO THE OWNER AND THE REGULATING AGENCIES.
8. ALL CONSTRUCTION SHALL CONFORM TO LOCAL, STATE AND FEDERAL RULES
INCLUDING THE NATIONAL POLLUTANT DISCHARGE ELIMINATION SYSTEM
(NPDES) PERMIT REQUIREMENTS.
9. ALL SOILS AND MATERIALS TESTING SHALL BE COMPLETED BY AN
INDEPENDENT GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER. EXCAVATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF
REMOVING UNSTABLE OR UNSUITABLE SOILS SHALL BE COMPLETED AS
REQUIRED BY THE GEOTECHNICAL. ENGINEER, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE
RESPONSIBLE FOR COORDINATING ALL REQUIRED SOILS TESTS AND
INSPECTIONS WITH THE GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER.
