',• ORONO PARK COMMISSION MEETING
- - MINUTES

ATTENDANCE : The PARK Commission met at 7 PM with the fol-
lowing in attendance : Vongries , Gilbert , Flint , �rger , Kelley,
Bradley andPublic Works Director , John Gerhardson. Absent -
Kokal and Sweatt .
The minutes of the June 6th meeting were approved .
A lengthy discussion of various proposals for revising the
present park dedication fee schedule , adopted over 10 years
ago , lead to the following motion by Kelley, seconded by
Erger , to recommend to the Orono City Council that :
Sec . 11 . 62 , subd. 1 be amended to require that cash con-
tributions in lieu of land dedicaation for residential
property shall be on the basis of $1 , 000 . per dwelling unit ,
regardless of lot size , payable on approval of subdivision
plat , or, in the case of existing vacant lots , on issuance
of the building permit .
A motion to amend the resolution was made by Gilbert and duly
seconded to provide that :
The park dedication fee for commercial and industrial pro-
perty shall be based on 5% of the fair market value .
A motion to amed the resolution was made by Flint and duly
seconded to provide that :
The above fee schedule shall be automatically revised
annually on the basis of the Consumer Price Index (CPI ) .
A motion to amend the resolution was made by Flint and duly
seconded to provide that :
The language contained in Sec . 21-412 of the Minnetrista
City Code be adopted and included in the Orono City Code .
The above resolution, including all amendments , passed
unanimously. The resolution is to be prepared by city staff
for formal discussion and decision by the Park Commission
at the next meeting on August lst .
The meeting adjourned at 9 : 40 PM.
