ATTENDANCE
Philip Bradley, Acting Chairperson, Bruce Kokal, Les Kelley, and Lee
Erger were present. Virginia Sweatt was absent. John Gerhardson from
the Orono City staff was also present.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Minutes from the August 2, 1988 meeting were reviewed and approved.
PARR COMMISSION CHAIRPERSON
John Gerhardson moved that an acting chairperson be appointed to
replace Bob Kost. After discussion, Phil Bradley agreed to accept the
chair pending full approval by City Council.
REPORTS
Public Works Director Gerhardson reported that notices of Park
Commission vacancies have been mailed to p�evious applicants and
candidiates. Notices will also appear in local newspapers.
Park Survey Questionaire was reviewed and approved for mailing.
Questionaire will now be presented to City Council for cost approval.
SCULPTORE DEDICATION
Livingston Park Bird Bath - Sculpture will be formally dedicated in
October. Commission agreed to invite artist and public officials.
John Gerhardson will arrange publicity and coordinate guests.
SUMMIT PARR PARRING
Les Kelley proposed an expansion of the Summit Park parking lot from
the present ten spaces to twenty spaces. The addition of playground
equipment also was proposed. Both proposals passed unanimously for
presention to City Council.
ADJODRNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 8:35 p.m. The next meeting is scheduled
for Tuesday, October 4, 1988 at 7 :00 p.m.
