ORONO PARK COMMISSION, APRIL 5, 1988
ATTENDANCE
Bob Kost, Chairman, Bruce Kokal, Les Kelley, and Philip Bradley were
present. Virginia Sweatt, Lee Erger, and Thomas Casey were absent.
John Gerhardson from the Orono City staff was also present.
APPROVAL OF MINtJTES
Minutes from the February 2, 1988 meeting were reviewed and approved.
SCULPTURE
Commission members visted artist Nick Legeros at the Art Center and
approved the fullscale wax model for the Livingston Tower Park
Sculpture. John Gerhardson will have a check sent to Mr. Legeros for
Phase II of the project.
BIRE HIRE TRAIL
Mr. Richard Flynt of 1405 County Road 6 , addressed the commission
regarding his desire to see a paved, seperated bike trail along County
Road 6 out to Baker Park Preserve.
EAGLE SCOUT
Will Swanson of Troop 571 will plant approximatly 25 small trees at
Casco Circle Park. The planting will assist him in earning his Eagle
Badge this summer. The cost of the trees will be assumed by the City
out out of park fund. John Gerhardson wi 11 coordinate Mr. Swanson's
efforts.
PARR USER SURVEY
The 1988 Orono Park and Recreation resident survey was discussed. Bob
Kost will edit the 1977 survey based on the Boards discussion and
deliver it to John Gerhardson for final editing and typing. It was
decided that the majority of the survey results will be tallied and
interpreted numerically.
PARIC DEDICATION REQUIREMENTS
Discussion was held regarding the revision of Orono's Park Dedication
requirements. Bob Kost will present a summary of Park Dedication
requirements from neighboring communities and from communities of
similar size to Orono at the next meeting.
TOM CASEY
Discussion was held regarding Tom Casey's attendance record. Bob Kost
will call Mr. Casey and discuss his intentions for further
involvement.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m. The next meeting is scheduled
for Tuesday, May 3 , 1988 at 7 :00 p.m. and will begin outside at Casco
Circle Park.

K� A Single Family Residence, Existing Vacant Lot: Fee to be paid with
building permit for new residence on previously platted property or;
if vacant land is subdivided, fee to be paid with subdivision for
the one "existing" residential .lot. I
B Single Family Residence, New Lot: Fee to be paid with subdivision
for each "new" residential lot.
�Duplex Residential: Fee to be paid with building permit or with
psubdivision, whichever occurs first, for each duplex building (duplex �
is defined as two attached single family residential units). Should
an existing single family residence be converted to duplex, the fee
shall be one half of the schedule amount due with the building
permit.
� � Multifamily Residential: Fee to be paid with building permit .or with
subdivision, whichever occurs first, for each residential unit in a
multifamily (three or more units) building.

be at the rate of $500.00 per acre of gross land area, to be paid with
