PARK COMMISSION MINUTES
The Orono P�rk Commission met on Tuesday, October 13 , 1981 .
The following members were present : ATTENDANCE
Chairman Tomlinson , E.rger, Stinson
and Peterson.
According to John Gerhardson , he has SUMMIT PARK
receive3 instruction from the City
Council to proceed with a 10 car
parking lot grading at Summit Park.
Included in the plan was a gate and
an 8 foot picnic table.
Due to resistance from the residents CASCO PARK SKATING
near this park the council has not RINK
persued plans to construct a skating
rink at this park. In light of this
resistance the park commission has also
decided to persue the project no further,
Outfield grading and seeding are to be BEDERWOOD PARK
completed this fa11 , according to John
Gerhardson.
The Park Commission inspected this park
in June, and discussed the parking lot
improvements that are required. The
following recommendation is made;
Resolved: that the Park Commission �
recommends to the City Council that
the folloiwng improvements be made :
l . Parking lot be grad�d.
2. Posts be installed to control
access.
3 . Signing, showing parking and
park use rules , be posted.
Resolution Passed.
Se�eral citizens have requested that HACKBERRY PARK
the sattelite toilets be le�t in place
unti� appraximately November lst each
year to accomodate soccer teams using
the park.
Chairman Lee Tomlinson has announced his RESIGNATION
intentions to resign the Chairmanship of
the Park Commission , wishing to continue
as tf commission member. Other Commissioners
were ask ta consider assuming the chairmanship.
