PARK COMMISSION MINUTES
The regular meeting of the Orono Park Commission was held on July 7 , 1981 .
The following members were present: ATTENDANCE
Kelley, Stinson , Tomlinson , and Sweatt.
The minutes of the June 2nd meeting MINUTES READ & APPROVED
were read and approved.
The Committee reviewed their decision HUSSMAN DEVELOPMENT
on this property.
The planting is progressing, fifty BEDERWOOD PARK
spruce and ei�hteen other trees have
been put in. The Bederwood sign is
up and picnic table and trash barrel
have been installed.
Project Director of the Community BIKE SAFETY PROGRAM
Bike Safety Program, Gary Cheswick ,
says the program is working well. In
addition to a verbal warning, offenders
are sent a letter with a copy kept on file
for reference. A bike rodeo is being held
at Grandview Junior High School in Mound,
on July 11 , 1981 with prizes offered by
local businesses . A course will be
negoiated to show off bike safety.
Lee Tomlinson will be appearinq before the SUMMIT PARK
Orono Council on July 13th, concerning the
resolution of June 2nd by The Park Commission
recommending the Purchase of two picnic tables
and a trash barrel .
The meeting was adjourned. . ADJOURNMENT
