CITY OF ORONO
PARK COMMISSION
The regular meeting of the Orono Park Commission was held on November 11 ,
1980 . �
The following members were present : ATTENDANCE
Watson , Massengale, Tomlinson , Sweatt,
Kelly, and Peterson.
The minutes of the October meeting MINUTES
were read and approved.
A backstop has been ordered to be in- MINNETONKA ART CENTER
stalled this fall. A trash can may be
needed, as empty cans were noticed lying
around.
The baseball field is undersized. City BEDERWOOD PARK
staff is making a report on how it can
be enlarged. Some fill will probably
be brought in and some trees removed
next spring to bring it up to regulation
size.
The well is being sunk by a Brainerd Co.
which was low bidder.
Chief of Police Kilbo asked the Park BICYCLE SAFETY PROGRAM
Commission if it would like a bicycle
safety program. He is willing to do
bicycle spot checking and an inspection
program.
The Park Commission will send for the
proposed form to see what is involved.
Mary Watson of Orono, died last week. She POSSIBILITY OF MEMORIAL FUN1
was very interested in Parks and Recreation.
If the Park Commission woul� propose buying
or planting something for one of our parks
to the League of Women Voters , it might
agree to give some money as a memorial to her.

The Park Commission will work on some SUMMIT PARK
plans to develop the park over the
winter.
The meeting was adjourned. ADJOURNMENT
