Regular rrieetin� of the Orono Park Commission held April 1 , 1980.
The Orono Park Cornrnission met on the ATTENDANCE
above date with the following present:
Chairman Tomlinson, Erger, Peterson,
Kelley, and Goetten. Not Present:
Watson and Massen�ale.
The minutes of the March meeting were read MINUTES
and approved.
John Gerhardson reported to Tomlinson that SURVEY TO BE MAILED
the comtnunity survey should be ready to be
mailed by the en d of the week. A pre-stamped
return envelope will be used to save on post-
age costs.
Tomlinson read a letter to the Park Commission BERGLUND LETTER
from Toni Berg�.und sent to all the cities par-
ticipating in the suirnner recreation program.
• Berglund asked for our ideas on tho types of
activities desired for our area. The park
commission suggested the following list:
1 . Rotating Theme Programs
2. Nature Hike (ex. Bederwood Park)
3. Soccer
1�.. Or�anized ball
5. Badminton
6, volleyball
7. Calisthenics
8. Storytelling
9. Pet Parade
10. Bicycle rodeo
Diann Goetten will send a note to Toni
Bergland with our sug�estions and with
questions asking the age group participa-
ting.
Tomlinson reported he is still unable to CAPTAIN LANGHOFF
reAch Captain Langhoff of the 36th Engi-
neering Battalion re�arding the grading
at Bederwood Park. He hopes to contact
Langhoff soon and report back to the Park
Commission.

A special joint rneetin�; will be held on JOINT ME�;TING
April 8, 1980 with the Urono P=lannirig
Commission and the planner, Guriner Isberg,
re�arding the proposed Comprehensive Plan.
Tomlinson asked the Park Commission members
to come prepared with recommendations.
Goetten suggested tYiat a future Park Commission TOUR OF PARKS
meeting be arranged to tour our existin� park
facilities and update our information. The
Commission voted to tour our parks in June.
