CITY OF ORONO
PARK COMMISSION
Re�ular meeting of the Orono Park Comm3.ssion held August 7, 1979.
The Orono Park Com�nission met on the above ATTENDANCE
date with the Pollowing members present:
Chairman Tomlinson, Berglund, P�terson,
Kelley and Goetten; Not Present: Watson,
and �rger.
The minutes of the July meeting were read MINUTES
and approved.
Chairman Tomlinsnn reported that Roland ROLAND BERGLUND
Berglund wil7. be honored at the Orono
City Council meeting on August 28, 1979
at 7:30 P.M., all Park Co�unission members
were invited to attend.
Tomlinson also reported tha� Bruce Dayton SUNIl�[IT PARK
will provide aome funding for the develop-
ment of Summit Park which he donated last
year. Mr. Dayton has asked the Park
Com�ni.ssion for suggestions in making this
a useable area. Preliminary recom�enda-
tions were:
Identification si�n
Parkin� area
Access Control
Swim�ni.ng dock
Mowing
Trash barrels
Picn3.r� facilities
Satellite
Playgrourid equipment
TYie Co�ni.ssion was informed that the LAWCON-LCMR
application has been sent in for LAWCON
and LCMR funds for Bederwood Park. A
few members of that office came out
and looked at Bederwood Pask recently
and telephoned John Gerhardson �rith
their comments.
Tomlinson will check to see if the ARMY ENGINEERING
Arm9 Engineerin� Batallion will be
able �o proceed with the grad3.ng of
Bederwood in August.

Park Commission members were asked their LUCE LINE GRADE
recommendation for th� ty�pe of grade cross-
ing to be used at the railroad-Luce Line
intersection. (Coun�y Road '19 & 6th Aven. No. )
The members voted that a separate grade would
be better.
