The Orono Park Commission met on the above date ATTENDANCE with the Pollowi.ng members present: Chairman Toralinson, Berglund, �rger, Kelley, Peterson, Watson. ATot present: None Also in attendance was prospective new member, J. Diann Goetten. NEW MEMBER The Existing Commission voted to recommend to the council that Ms. Goetten be appointed as a permanent member of the cou�rnission, filling the vaca.ncy left by the e.xpiration of the term of Wa�.t Lathrop. Chairman Tomlinson presented a copy of the letter DAYTON PROPERTY from city Manager Dick Benson, to Mr. Bruce Da9ton acknowledging the completed transPer of the Suimnit Park property to the city, and thanki.ng hi.m Por it. The Corr�ai.ssion discussed possible denelopments at Summit Park, including the erection of some sort of access control, development of the beach, and picnic facilities. The city staff is still examining the status oP CITY LAKESHORE the city owned lakeshore property on Forest Lake. FOREST LAKE. A new park dedication ordinance has been drafted NEW ORDINANCE by the City Attorney. The city staff has asked � for co�enta b�r the Park Commission. Several questions have been raised by the cot�rnissioners, the answers to which may affect our opinion of the proposed ordinance, to wit: 1 . Is the money already collected currently kept in a separate Pund? 2. Will the roll of the park corr�nission change under this new ordinance. 3. Is d.isbursement from the park dedi- cation ftiind required by this ordinance. t�.. IInder the new ordinance wi.11 there be a change in the "Recreational" status of the Orono Golf Course. �ese and other questions will be asked of the City Attorney, and City Staff. A1so, chairman Tomlinson is planning to stop at Bloomington City Offices to see what changes in their Park Dedication fee ordinance �. �! were made, expecially those which precipitated the revision of the Orono Ordinance. �e City Council has been asked to wait for the Park Co�nission's co�ents before acting on this proposed ch�.n,ge.
