Regular meeting of the Grono Park Commission
held N.arch 7, 1978:
The Orono Park Commission met on the above date ATTENDANCE '
with the following me�bers present: Cfiairman
Tomlinson, IIerglund, Watson and Erger. Absent:
Peterson, Kelley and Lathrop.
Z'he minutes of the January 3, 1978 meeting were MINUTFS APPROVED - NO
approved. No meeting was neld in February FEBRUARY MEETING
because of scheduling conflicts.
The proposed tree transplanting plans for Hack- TREE PLANTING - HACKBERRY
berry Park were discussed. The commission agreed
that the owner of the adjacent nroperty should bP
consulted to see if he has any suggestions as to
tree locations. Generally, a screening around his `
property was considered by the commission to be
the first priority with additional plantings along
the south and east edges - if a sufficient number of
trees are available. `
The general topic of park planning was discussed. RECOMMENDATIONS FOR PARKS

*C irman Tomlinson will discuss these plans with
the city staff to determine if funding and man-
power are available to initiate these plans.

along two portions of the Orono Bike Trail as
proposed. These are County Road 15, from Navarre -
to Spring Pakr, and County Road 19, from the
Narrows Bridge to Navarre. Other proposed bike
trails have not yet been constructed and were only
recom�-nended to the county for inclusion in it ' s
planning as those routes are up-graded. The letter
from the county said they would not erect signs
along those proposed bike trails until the roads
� � rehuilt to include the wider paved shoulders

The city attorney has been contacted regarding TRANSFER OF PROPERTIES AT
the legal transfer of properties at- Stubbs Bay STUBBS BAY & LUCE LINE
Road and the Luce Line Trail. Both transfers are
pending, but have progressed very slowly. Chair-
man Tomlinson will contact the city staff to
determine the exact status of these transfers.
