Regular Meeting of the Park Commission, 8:1}.0 P.M. �
April 19, 1977
The Orono Park Commission met on the above PROSPECTIVE MEMBER:�
date with the following members present : Lee Tomlinson
Chairman Lathrop, Kelley, Berglund and Hurr.
Also present: Prospective member Lee Tomlin-
son. He will be presented to the Council for
approval on April 25, 1977.
Dunwreath Peasley wishes to ' resign his position RESIGNATION:
on the Park Commission. His schedule does not Dunwreath Peasley
allow attendance at meetings. Village: please
send him a letter of Thanks for Service.
The next Park Conunission Meetin.g will be on
Tue�day May 10, 19?7.
Fern Kubalsky came to the Park Commission to CIiAIRMANSHIP OF BIKE-HIKE
discuss the status of the Bike-Hike Trails COMMITTEE
Committee. She cannot continue as Chairwoman
but would continue as the representative to
the Joint Trails Commission. Walter Lathrop
will call Otto Christenson concerning the
Chairmanship.
The joint venture study of Bike-Hike Trails JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT
currently involves nine municipalities :
Wayzata, Orono, Mound, Spring Park, Excel-
sior, Long Lake, Minnetonka Beach, Tonka Bay
and Shorewood. The Councils of these areaa
will be asked, in May, to be part of a Joint
Powers Agreement regarding the Bike-Hike
Trails study. Orono has allocated $7,000.00
for the study but currently their share is
almost $11�.,000.00. Pro jected cost of com-
leted Bike-Hike Trails is $18,000.00 to
P$25,000.00 per mile.
The question of no motorized vehicles in City "NO MOTORIZID VEHICLES"
Parks was discussed. The Park Commission re-
quests a report on the status of these signs
in all parks.
The Casco Circle Park was discussed. We are CASCO CIRCLE PARK SURVEY
to instruct Mr. Joy Richards to survey the
residents concerning their park needs. We
would like to look at the questiona on their
survey on May 10, 1977 and have the results
back by June 21 , 1977. Hurr moved this re-
quest; Berglund seconded. Ayes (5) Nays (0)

The idea of State-Wide Bike Registration was BIKE REGISTRATION
discussed and tabled with a request for more
information from Mr. Kilbo. Lee Tomlinson
will obtain this information.
Kelley wonders about the status of the DNR PROPERTY AND TAX-
Dickey property ( ift to the DepartmenL of DELINQIIII�TT LAND
Natural Resources�; also the status of tax-
delinquent land.
