Noveriber 25, 1975 The Orono Park Commission met on the above date with the following members present: Chairman Lathrop, Berglund, Hallowell, Kallestad, Opheim, and Peasley. Members absent: Leipols, Oberhauser, and Panuska. Kallestad moved, Hallowell seconded, that P7INUTES the P•4inutes of the Regular Meeting of October 21, 1975 , be approved. Motion, Ayes (6) - Nays (0) . Chairman Lathrop brought up the problem of park PARK FUNDS funds and whether they must be spent or banked in the form of equipment gurchases. Berglund moved, Peasley seconded, that the Park Commission authorize John Gerhardson to purchase backstop materials for the Larson and Antonie park properties not to exceed $2 ,500. t•Zotion, Ayes (6) - Nays (0) . Hallowell mentioned that the Larson property PARK SIGNS should be identified as park property. Opheim said the Planning Commission requested the Park Commission to erect such a sign. Opheim moved, Berglund seconded, that the Park Corirnission request the public works department to erect two park property signs and also sink two posts for a sign Lathrop will donate at the Larson site. Motion, Ayes (6) - Nays (0) . Discussion of costs and wording followed. Chairman Lathrop brought up the upcoming Joint JOINT MEETING meeting of all Orono Commissions on Deceraber 10, 1975. He asked for suggestions regarding park dedication fees which is on the agenda. Chairman Lathrop reported that Dick Benson asked BUDGET that we consider changing our land acquisition budget to an equipment budget. Opheim said the budget was already worded to include both land and equipment acquisition. ' ORONO PARK COMMISSION MEETING HELD NOVEP�BER 25, 1975 Page 2 � Chairman Lathrop read a letter from member Gretchen RESIGNATION Hallowell tendering her resignation from the Park Gretchen Hallowell Corunission and resigning her leadership of the Bike/Hike Trail Committee, but she will continue as a member on that committee. It was decided to place news items in the Sun Newspaper and Orono S:�c�ool Pdewsletter soliciting new members, also some selected mailings. Hallowell read her year-end progress report on BIKE/HIKE YEAR-END the Bike/Hike Committee. Copies will be sent to REPORT members.
