A.bsent: Miller, Oberhauser, and Panuska. The i�Iinutes of the Regular i�ieeting of T�INUTES February 20, • 1974 were read and approved. Tlre John Perdy, Fagerness Point, was present. TENIVIS COURTS :ie presented a personal request to the Park Commission for constructing tennis courts in Orono an� esp�ecially 'co consider putting them in Roberta Lea Antoine Park. T9ysocky gave a history of the previous studies done by the Commission on tennis courts. A discussion was held. Tennis courts are a nrime concern but at the present time land acquisition and a ��ark study are the first objectives of the commission. serglund read a copy of his letter to PZrso LARSOi1 PROPERTY Arlene Undlin reaffirming our offer for the 8. 72 acres of land north of the Luce Line Trail and ��est of the Old Stubbs Bay Road. To date, no reply has been received. Opheim suggested l�irs. Undlin be contacted again to see if the familv has any questions. [�ysocky left the meeting. A discussion was held. Opl:eim moved, Berglund seconded, that i7astny write a letter in reply saying the Commission will consider this request along with the other possible sites for development. P•7otion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0) . T�iastny reported that Mr. Lee Primus, owner SKI TONItA of Ski Tonka, was willing to order the use of some of his land during the summer for recreational use, if the City would keep it up. A discussion was held. Opheim moved, Hallowell seconded, that we thank P•ir. Primus for his offer but do not feel we are in a position to accept his offer at the present time. T�Iotion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0) . Berglund requested that the tennis court at EXISTING PARRS the Art Center be cleaned up. Hallowell requested that members of the Commission take a look at Roherta Lea Antoine park for futurc development. Opheim requested that Benson give us an SIGNS estimated cost for putting up signs on all the park property presently owned. A discussion was held on possible names to MEP�IDERSHIP be presented for membership on the Park Commission and the size of the Commission. Opheim moved, Berglund seconded, that an announcement be put in the Sun and the Laker papers asking that anyone interested in being on the Park Commission contact Mastny and attend the April meeting of the Commission. t�sotion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0) .
