January 1G, 1973 Tiie Park Commission met on tIie above clate with the following members present: Chair- man Ogland, Hallowell, Leipold, t•Iastny, Stanlce, and lVysocky. Absent : Jarl, Opheim, and Panuska. The i4inutes were read and anproved. i+�INUTES Tne original budget proposed was $19,900. BUDGET Tiie Council nas added $10,000 for nark improvements and acquisition. Tlie total is $29, 900. A resolution will be presented to tlie Council that any unused funds i�ill be transferred to the Park Commission for acquisition. Recommendations were made for new members on NEId A�E�1BEt�S t;1e Park Commission. Geographical location is an important consideration •as we want all parts of the Village to be rePresented on t:ie commission if possible. Ogland Iiad talked witli several people that Trere recommended previously and has recommended Doug :•4iller and P.olalld Berglund to the Council. EUe will consider two more additions. The Village is taorking on marking exact park �IAPS locations on maps for tlie commission. Identification was made on a large Villa�;e map wit;-� all park and park-type lands in or near tiie boundaries of tlle Villa�e . The mans will be studied for future planning. Tiie Council would like to liave road markers GOLF COURSE to identify the Orono golf course. tYysocky moved, Sta,ike seconded, that since t}ie Parlc Commission is trying to have uniform signs for easy ideritification of park property, tve recommend that the Standard Green Logo sign with a tack-on saying Orono Golf Course be put up on either end of Orono Orc:iard Road and County Road #15 and Highway #12 to locate tlle golf course. RIPARIAiJ RIGHTS The Park Commissioii recommends the prouvsed riparian rights ordinance, It agrees iaitii the basic concept of control of t:�e lake s:iore so that it wi11 not be misused. It was felt, haz�rever, that newly created lots could be given riparian riglits under sensible guidelines. Example: A presently undivided parcel t'iat abuts the lake could be divided in such a way as to give riparian rights . As a guideline, 10' of lake shore �+rould be provided for eac3i building site.
