Tr�e Park Commission met on the above date

man 0gland, ?-lastny, Opheim, Stanke, and _
lVysocky. Hallowell arrived late . Absent:
Jarl, Leipold, and Panuska.

A discussion of recommendations for new
members to fill tize vacancies on the Park
Commission was held, fIallowell's term is
up and reappointment was recommencled. Three
more are needed. Candidates must be screened
to insure active and informed members .
prospective candidates �,rill be contacted
before presenting the names to the Village
Council. The Parl: Commission needs a new-
m�mber packet to help members get started.
It siiould include a Village man, individual
responsibilities and other pertinent
information.
The Park Commission wishes to join the NATIONAL RECREATION �
iJational Recreation and Park Association. PARK AS�OCIATION
It costs $50. 00 Per year. Opheim will
write for information to present to the
Co�,�ncil.
Tlie Park Commission wishes to commend Dick Benson DICK BEi�iSON
for Iiis excellent work and iiis cooperation
with the projects of the Park Commission.
The �ii�iii,rood paths �aill be laid starting HIGHtV00D PATHS
January 3, 1973. Jim Gilbert �vill �aork
with Dick Benson and his crew, Only a part
of the paths will be laid this winter with
the rest being completed in the s�ring.
A discussion was lield on riparian riglits. RIPARIAN RIGHTS
Opinions were conflicting, It was agreed
tliat some kind of control ��as needed.

A legal description of the Lydiard access LYDIARD ACCESS
was read. It was dedicated to the Village
in 1954.
�Vysocky moved, Stanke seconded, fihat the DUTCH EL�i DISEASE
Park Board recommend to tlie Village Council
that we adopt an ordinance for the Control
of Dutch Elm Disease based on the Tentative
P�iodel Ordinance for Dutch Elm Disease
Control as recommended by the League of
Minnesota P�Iunicipalities and employ a
forester, tree inspector.
The Park Commission further recommends that
the forester attend the free training session
in February, which i,rill be conducted by . . _
Hennepin County. l�iotion, Ayes (6) - �tays (0) .
The Commission requests that the Village PARK ;�IAPS
identify all the park property on our book
of half-section maps. Village maps were
given to each person pxesent. t�4astny will
be in charge of the sepia.
Tiie Lions Club of Long Lake is interested HACKBERRY PARK
in participating with the Park Board to
equip Hackberry. They tivould like ta put in
trees and some play equipment. They felt
the commission should put in a fence along
jVillow Drive.
Oplieim moved, Stanke seconded, that if our
year-eiid resources permit, we should buy
560' of S' cyclone fence for the ��lillo�v
Drive side of Hackberry park. ���Iotion,
