The Park Commission met on the above date

man Ogland, Jarl, Liepold, Panuska, and
��lysocky. Absent: Jones , Smitli, Stanke,
and SVhite. Also present; Village Administrator
Ralpli A-iartin; Hilding Silfverston, r�tinnetonka
Sun; Jolin Sunde, Hennepin County Park Reserve;
Ed Nicholson, The Bike Shop; Ed Fisher , Bob
Remington, and Wes Keliier, American Youtli
Hostel.
Plans �rere made for tiie public meeting at tiie LUCE LINE RAILROAD
Orono A•Ziddle School on January 19, 1972 , Trail System
regardiiig acquisition o� the Luce Line Railroad
for a trail system.
Ogla�id moved, Paiiuska seconded, to sef a goal ACREAGE NEEDEll
of 300 acres of parkland in Orono plus lowlands
and marshlands. ;-Iotion, Ayes (5) - i�ays (0) .
Ttie Park Commission will request tlie Village NCERNI3ERG PROPERTY
Attorney to investigate tne disposition of the
Noernberg property. Is there a possibility
of using it for a Village park?
Ogland �aill check on possibilities of obtaining TOPOGRAPHICAL P,4AP5
topographical maps of parks in Orpno. This
information will be necessary for the Landscape
Department of the University if �ae sponsor
a desi�n competition on a student project.
Discussion �aas neld regarding the French Lake FRENCH LAICE
property as park property. Ice skating could Ice Skating
be implemented there as soon as the sewer
plant is ph�sed out.
T;ie concensus was tiiat tiie Orono Golf Course ORONO GOLF COURSE
needs better public relations and publicity.
