Tlie Park Commission met on the above date
witli the following members present : Chair-
man Ogland, Jarl , Joiies , Liepold, Panuska,
aiid 1Vysocl:y, Also present : Village
Administrator iiartin. Absent: Dorrel ,
Fahlin, Smi.th, Stanke , and �Vhite.
Jim Ogland reported on the joint decision BRAUER F, ASSOCIATES
of the Park and Plaiining Commissions to
request the hiring of Brauer F, Associates
as the professional planners for our
Village. There caill be a meeting August 24 ,
1971, i�ith the planners at 7: 30 P.Tt. to
discuss cost and approach. It is }ioped we
�vill be ready to present our rec{uests to
tlie Council on September 13, 1971.
Darrel Leipold. reported on possible use SANITATION PURIFICATION
of tiie present Orono se�ver building and land, AREA
(the ViZlage owns 40 acres) . He felt it
could malce a lovely nature area with
possibility as a skating rink in the winter
since tt�ere is natural low and high areas
situated among many trees . I-Ie will contact
Dicic Benson and Bill Carlson f4r further
information and to secure access to the
building.
Dr. Panuska reported on his investigation LUCE LINE RAILROAD
of abandoned railroac� land on the Luce Trail System
Line for a trail system. Title description
of all the land involved is needed in order
to be eligible for federal money, Possibly
the area in auestion �vas originally a land
grant, which could mean tne land would
revert to its original owners . P�1r. "tartin
is to request the Village Attorney to find
out legal information on the original ownership.
Pat t��lysocky has information on �ahat is needed
to develop it into a trail system.
Ice skating rinks for tivinter use were planned. SKATING RINKS
A letter tivill be sent to the Long Lake Fire
Department to request their help in floodin�
anci maintaining a rink on the north end of
Hacicberry playground. Dr. Panuska �aill follow
t]Zis up with per,onal contact. City water needs
to be available and the land needs to be
banked before it starts to snow. Dr. Panuska
moved, Jarl seconded, that Casco Point Park,
I�ackberry playground, and possibly Hill School
be prepared for skating this winter. P1otion,

Dr. Panuska moved, Pat tiV.ysocky seconded, to HILL SCHOOL LAND
request that i9r, l9hitehead, Village Attorney,
find out immediately about the tax delinquent
land at the Hill School for possible acquisition

Our budget for the year c,ras discussed. BUDGET
Ogland reported:
$9,000 - 1971 budget
�5,900 - Kutz property
2 ,650 - Hackberry property
�8 , 550 - Tot�.l spent - �450 balance for 1971
�5 ,000 - committed for 1972 for Kutz property
4 , 500 - to spend in 1972 . Possibly on
access property to Kutz property,
signs , backstoPs , playground equipment,
docks , etc. for parks .
Pat lYysocIcy moved, Panuska seconded, that we CREPEAU DOCKS
buy $400 of Crepeau docks for Sandy Beach.

Edith Jones tivas asked to contact the Ly1e SIGNS
Sign Company to see if we can get a catalog
of possible signs designating our park land.
