T1ie Park Commission met on the above date
wit}i the following members present : Chairman
Dorrel , Jarl , Jones , Larson, Ogland, Parten,
jtiihite , and lVysocky. Absent: Fahlin,
Panuska, and Smith.
Ogland movec�, bVysocky seconded, that N0�4INATION
Robert Dorrel be nominated to remain as
ci�.airman with the condition that this �,rill
terminate as of January 1 , 1971. Ttotion ,
Ayes (8) - Nays (0) .
Th� Village maps prepared by Brauer � 1964 F, 1965 VILLAGE A1APS
AGsociates have not been located. A1r.
��Iartin will contact the company to get
copies . Tliere was discussion on reloeation
of parks in the Village. It would be
clesirable to have a library of maps and
;•tr. �Iartin has been ask�d to make up some
maps for each member.
IVhite reported on the Hill School playground HILL SCHOOL PLAYGROUND
� are� . The option on the property runs out
July 1, 1970 , and it is suggestecl that tve
iaait until that time to approach the School
Board. This appears to be our last chance
to holcl the property for park land.
Jarl moved, Ogland seconded, that the Park
Boarrl recommend that the Village Council
does what is necessary to acc{uire Hill
School land and/or building for park an d
recreation use. ?�7otion , Ayes (8) - Nays (0) .
:��1r. Benson reported on Hackberry playground HACKBERRY PLAYGROUND
and the possibility that it will be finished
this fall.
A report on the i�tills division was given and i�tILLS DIVISION

matters will be investigated.

recommend to the Village Council to acauire BERGQUIST F, I+IICKLUND PARK

In t?ie spring, we will take a look at the
property as a group.

A report was given by i�Ir. Jarl on available SAGA HILL
land in the Saga Hill area. 1. 15 acres are
owned by the neighboring church, tt is
adjoined on three sides by a road, private
property, and open lancl. '�4r. Jarl will
look into tliis further.
P�Irs . Kutz has brought up tlle possibility of KUTZ PROPERTY
selling to the Village 12 acres of land
between County Roads #19 �, #51. The Council
asked the Park Commission to look into this .
A committee was formed: Chairman Ogland,
Jones , and Dorrel.
;�4r. Joel Gainsley of Casco Point complained SNOjV?iOBILES
of snowmobiles on his property and in
metropolitan areas . He �,rould like strong
la�as by the Village that state that any
vehicle caught operating in a metropolitan
area be confiscztee?. He was referred to
Resolution #325.
James Ogland was appointed to the Ad Hoc AD HOC APPOINT��IENT
Committee on snowmobile regulations of
Hennepin County �4unicipalities .
� Ogland moved, lVysocky seconded, that we
recommend to the Village Council to strictly
enforce the present snoivmobile ordinance.
Motion, Ayes (8) - Nays (0) .
A committee of Parten, Ogland, and Fahlin c�ras LAND BASED BOAT SLIPS
appointed to study the need and desirability
of granting land based .(dry dock) boat s lips
to marina operators in the Village of Orono.
A report on tlie hor�e trail and railroad HORSE TRAILS
question was given by P�ir. Jarl who stated
that the Hennepin County Park Commission
has become interested in this project.
i�4r. i,4artin reported that Federal money is FEDERAL '�tONEY
available on a matching funds basis .
