The Regular Monthly Meeting of the Orono 8 :00 P.M.
Park Commission was held at the Village
Hall on February 14 , 1.968
The following members were present:

January 17 , 19�8y were rea� and apprbved,
The discussion of the �rono Golf Course ORONb GOLF COUR5B
included the use of snowmobiles on the SAFETY
course with children sliding; if mufflers
would solve some of the noise problems ; .
if signs and police checking would make
it safer .
A 64-man league has been playing in the ORONO GOLF COURSE
summer . Discussion also included more PROP�tOTION
leagues , management and pi•omotion of the
course .
Mayor Ross commented that the Council SNOWMOBILES
is aware that snowmobiles are a nuisance
but has hesitated about an ordinance because
of the Iack of general standards t�uhich
exists .
Mr . Butterfield suggested that the lake STREET VACATION
accesses should not be given away because
the Village might want it in later years .
If r�ir. Albricht 's request for the vacation
of an unnamed street in Rest Point Park
and Bergquist ' s Addition to Saga Hill is
approved , it might set a precedent , Mr .
White will look into the matter and make
a recommendation .
The Park Commission should look at the Saga SAGA HILL PLAYGROUND
Hill area for a playground site.
