Hi Mike
Yes, I am the main contact for the cemetery, I have all the records at my house.
There is no map available for distribution, the map we have have is very large and list only the lot numbers.
If people are searching for a grave they can let us know and the grave will be marked with a stake.
The telephone (voice mail) number for the cemetery is: 952-491-0753.
Mail for the cemetery should be sent to:
448 Mill Street, Long Lake, Mn 55356, or dropped off at Rettinger Funeral Home in Long Lake.
This summer two people have voiced critical opinions about the maintenance, wishing it to be more like Lakewood or the
Wayzata cemeteries. We have never provided that level of service, and will not- Wayzata public employees cost about
$50,000 per year (per Dave Dudinski via Sam Rettinger) and that is something we will not do. Cemetery policy has
always been to mow &trim and to rely on volunteers for all other tasks. FYI - we are working with the Lions Club and
have scheduled a fall clean-up for October 20.

We (Orono City Hall staff) occasionally are on the receiving end of inquiries about Union Cemetery, and they run the
gamut— such as who runs it, who maintains it, how do we contact someone there for purchasing plots, is there a listing
of who's interred there, how do we donate to it, etc. We normally refer these inquiries to you. The most recent one
asked if there is a cemetery board of directors and do we have their names and contact numbers. We don't, so I figured
you are the'go to' person on this. Any chance you can forward such a list to me? Thanks in advance for any information
you have available.
