MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Tuesday, May 26, 2015 <br />7:00 o'clock p.m. <br />ROLL CALL <br />The Orono City Council met on the above-mentioned date with the following members present: Mayor <br />Lill Tod McMillan, Council Members Jim Cornick, Jr., Lizz Levang, Aaron Printup, and Dennis Walsh. <br />Representing Staff were City Administrator Jessica Loftus, Finance Director Ron Olson, Community <br />Development Director Jeremy Barnhart, Senior Planner Michael Gaffron, City Planner Melanie Curtis, <br />Public Works Director/City Engineer Adam Edwards, City Attorney Soren Mattick, Consulting City <br />Engineer David Martini, and Recorder Jackie Young. <br />Mayor McMillan called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m., followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />Item Numbers 5, 6, 8, and 11 were added to the Consent Agenda. <br />Levang moved, Printup seconded, to approve the Consent Agenda as amended. VOTE: Ayes 5, <br />Nays 0. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />*2. REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF MAY 11, 2015 <br />Levang moved, Printup seconded, to approve the minutes of the Orono City Council meeting of <br />May 11, 2015, as submitted. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />RECOGNITION <br />3. LYLE OMAN RECOGNITION — RESOLUTION NO. 6515 <br />Mayor McMillan presented Lyle Oman with a plaque recognizing his 31 years of service to the City of <br />Orono. McMillan stated throughout the years she has received a lot of calls regarding the excellent <br />service provided by Lyle. <br />Levang stated she has enjoyed working with Lyle and that he has a wonderful demeanor. Levang <br />commented he will be missed. <br />Levang moved, Walsh seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 6515, a Resolution of Appreciation <br />to Lyle Oman for his Thirty -One Years of Dedicated Service. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />4. ORONO POLICE EXPLORER RECOGNITION — PRESENTATION <br />Police Chief Farniok stated he would like to take a few moments to recognize a few individuals that have <br />dedicated hundreds of hours in serving the community by participating in the Law Enforcement Exploring <br />Program, which is a program sponsored by local law enforcement agencies to provide career information <br />and scholarship opportunities to students aged 14 to 20. The program helps to introduce the students to <br />the law enforcement program. The students work first-hand with the officers by participating in ride- <br />alongs and learning crime prevention tools. <br />Page 1 of 22 <br />
