Dear Mr. Kurth & Ms. Penick: As you are probably already well aware,the septic system for your
property is failing. The surfacing of effluent is actually considered an imminent public health threat and
needs to be addressed very soon. The effluent can pose an increased risk to domestic animals and
children.
Please contact a septic professional to assess the problem(s) and start the process of correcting the
situation. I would also appreciate a phone call when you receive this letter. Pumping of the septic tanks
will help relieve the surfacing of the effluent until the problem can be fixed.
