( IV <br /> o�0CITY of ORONO <br /> v;'s+ ; � i1,; _ p RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> z ,��' ,-�`1 5 7 6 7 <br /> `9kESH0� N0. <br /> A RESOLUTION AMENDING <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 3234 AND RESOLUTION NO. 3717 <br /> AND DECLARING <br /> CERTAIN CITY FACILITIES AND CONTACTS <br /> TO BE TOBACCO FREE <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Orono is a municipal organization existing under the laws of <br /> Minnesota; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Orono hereby amends Resolution No. 3234, adopted February <br /> 9, 1993, and Resolution No. 3717, adopted April 8, 1996, declaring certain city facilities as <br /> smoke free buildings to include all tobacco products; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Orono wishes to continue to provide City officials, employees, <br /> and the general public with a work and meeting environment that is tobacco free; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Orono has designated the following city facilities as tobacco <br /> free buildings: <br /> Orono Public Works, 2700 Kelley Parkway <br /> Police Department, 2730 Kelley Parkway <br /> Village Hall, 2750 Kelley Parkway <br /> Council Chambers, 2780 Kelley Parkway <br /> Orono Golf Course Clubhouse, 265 Orono Orchard Road South; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Orono has designated all police vehicles as tobacco free; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Orono requires all employees to refrain from the use of tobacco <br /> when having contact with the public. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Orono City Council has designated all <br /> of the above named buildings, police vehicles and employee contact with the public to be <br /> tobacco free with the exception of a designated area in the police department for the sole use of <br /> individuals while being detained for a criminal investigation. <br /> Adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting on September 8, 2008. <br /> ATTEST: <br /> 4 /1 /":1- <br /> Linda S.
