ORONO CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION
Monday, October 28, 2013
5:30 p.m.
Present: Mayor Lili McMillan, Council Members Kristi Anderson, Cynthia Bremer, Lizz Levang and
Aaron Printup; representing Staff were City Administrator Jessica Loftus, Public Works
Director/City EngineerJesse Struve, and Finance Director Ron Olson.
Public Works Director/City Engineer Jesse Struve provided an update on Rest Point Road. It's
recommended the City try to reclaim Rest Point Road and Rest Point Circle for approximately$115,000
in 2014 if the funds are available.
Stuve presented updates to the 2014 Capital Improvement Plan. Council provided direction to bring
back a recommendation on water charges for the Navarre and north system during the fee schedule
discussion at the next work session. In addition, Council requested they discuss long-term funding for
roads at the January work session.
Discussion ensued regarding the priorities for the CSAH 112 turnback options. Council requested this
item be presented by Hennepin County at the Nov. 25th regular meeting to collect input from residents
on the Orono improvements.
City Administrator Loftus presented updated information on employee compensation. A discussion
regarding lump sum compensation was cut short due to a lack of time, so direction was provided to
have the issue back again at the November 25th work session. Councilmember Bremer requested
information on how surrounding lake communities are handling compensation.
The meeting closed at 6:53 p.m.
