MINUTES OF THE
ORONO CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION
Monday,August 27,2012
5:30 p.m.
Present: Mayor Lili McMillan, Council Members Cynthia Bremer, Doug Franchot,Aaron Printup and
Dave Rahn; representing Staff were City Administrator Jessica Loftus, Finance Director Ron
Olson and City Clerk Lin Vee
Finance Director Ron Olson outlined updates to the proposed 2013 general fund budget that was
presented to the Council at their July 20`h work session. Council provided direction on several budget
decisions to be included in the preliminary budget and tax levy that will be on the September 10tn
Council agenda for approval.
Assistant City Administrator Mike Gaffron and Planning &Zoning Coordinator Melanie Curtis provided
information comparing MnDNR hardcover standards to Orono hardcover standards. Council discussed
the information to be used as a reference for amending Orono's hardcover ordinance.
Council briefly discussed the city property adjacent to the Long Lake Fire Station.
There were no comments regarding Information Update items.
The meeting closed at 7:00 p.m.
