MINUTES OF THE
ORONO CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION
Monday,June 25, 2012
5:30 p.m.
Present: Mayor Lili McMillan, Council Members Cynthia Bremer, Doug Franchot, Aaron Printup and
Dave Rahn; representing Staff were City Administrator Jessica Loftus, Police Chief Correy
Farniok, Finance Director Ron Olson and City Clerk Lin Vee
Chief Farniok reported that the Police Department received a request for a proposal to provide police
service to the City of Mound. Council briefly discussed the impacts of providing police service to the
Mound area.
Finance Director Olson reviewed the revenue and expenditure challenges for the 2013 budget. The
Capital Improvement Plan (CIP)was referenced and will continue to be included in budget discussions.
Council provided direction regarding budget priorities as staff prepares the preliminary budget to be
discussed at the July 23�d work session.
Council discussed the potential uses for the fund balance that was transferred to the Community
Investment Fund as approved at the May 29th Council meeting.
City Administrator Loftus summarized the complaint the city received regarding roosters. Council
directed staff to move forward with an ordinance amendment to prohibit roosters.
There were no comments regarding Information Update items.
The meeting closed at 6:53 p.m.
