Dear Todd:
you requested, we have examined the stone gravity rztaining structure at the above-
Asreferenced address. The purpose of my examination was to collect information needed to
analyze the structure for stability.
The structure is a stone%mvity retaining wall with a maximum height of 5' 8". The
highest portion of the wall has four courses of boulders, each boulder weighing
approximately 500 pounds. The back face of the boulder wall is lined with a filter fabric
to reduce erosion of the grdnular backfUl through the wall face.
of the highest
theion of
topof the
the wall,we measured approximately 2' .8"batter from he
wall, corresponding to a 25-degree angle from vertical.
Based on our analyses, the structure has safety factors of.2.3 against overturning, and 1,5
against sliding along its base. These safety factors meet professional engineering
standards for this type of construction.
Please call if we can provide further assistance.
Sincerely,
