REZONING &.PROPOSED STRUCTURE- L.W.MYERS PROPERTY
Turnhan presented pleas submitted by Dr.Sa.gehorn fora pro-
posed commercial structure if and when the site was rezoned commer-
cipl. The problems of a proper drain field 9 set -i.n from rear property
line and parking and loading areasnwere d:iscussednSuggesti.ons 'in.-
eluded:
a.) Purchase of an additional 100 f.toin the rear of the
building.
b) Moving building toward the front to provide loading
driveway in the rear.
e) Elimination of southernmost parking strip in front of
the building to provide more area for a drain field,

Mr. Brooks requested recommendations re erection of two
residential structures, one on each of two lots fronting Railroad
Ave, ,Crystal Bay. He pointed out that Orono Municipal Code 30.0409
Subd o l requires thit no building may be erected in this or other
commercial zone except for commercial purposes. It was moved by
Boldon. seconded by Wolfe9that the Crystal Bay commercial area on
the east side of the Great Northern tracks be rezoned resideAtialo
Motion carried,
BRUCE KELL:LY- ` HORPE SUBDIVISION
Discussed 4ore the recommendations of the Planning Commission
concerning this subdivision as recorded in the minutes of the
meeting of NOV-3,1962. in the matter of cul -de -sacs the Commission
voiced opposition to the arrangement. It was also suggested that
NO. Kelley masse some rearrangement of certain lots bordering the
low area on the south end of the tract, It was further mentioned
that it would be necessary to correlate plans with all parties
owning pircels of property w1thin the prop000d subdivision,
NA VARRE STUDY
The Chair read correspondance and an outline of the proposed
work to be dome by the Midwest Planning and Research firma Boldon
moved reco!nmending acceptance of the terms set forth by the firm.
The motion was seconded by Curry and carried unanimously,

Mr. Hills suggested a check list t of preliminary require-
ments for all proposed subdivisions. He recommender a filing
fee be requiredgas well as the usual performance bond, The
Commission approved the suggestion cand placed it on record.
PARKS
A general di Boussion of parks and recreational areas
for Orono revealed a ntmibar of suggeo-tions as to different.-_
types of such ou .door activity aueaea It was generally agreed
that Orono should have a swimming beach and that arrangements
should be made w-i th school authorities -to make full use of
recreational areas owned by School Districts.
