REGULAR MEETING OF THE PLANNING
COMMISSION,VILLAGE OF ORONO
OCT.2591962
Chairman D. J. Russell called the meeting to order with
the Following members present :W.W.Wolfe'9R.L.Searles9 Wm. To
Mi1ls,H.R.Rice,111m A.Curry,S.M.Halperin and'Don Cleveland.Also
present were D.J.Bo11,Vi.11age Clerk and C.R.Quady,Trustee.
In the.absence of the regular secretary,the Chair designated
Vtm.T.Mills to act pro tem.

A subdivision involving 7 lot an extending cul —de-
sac on a site bounded on the by Co.Hwy. #146,describ'ed
as "approximately the W h of the N.E.4 of See.3,T.117,R.23"
ryas submitted by D.D.Ryerse for recommendations. It was
moved by Searles,seconded by.Rice,to approve the subdivision
with the stipulation thAt the cul —de —sac radius be 60 ft.,
and it was recommended that all such cut —de —saes have this
radius in the futureo Motion carried

Cleveland — Kramer — Subdivision
C.L.Kramer and Donald and Richard Cleve and submitted a
plat calling for the subdivision of all that portion of the
SW.i of the S.E.-L of See-35,T.118 No9R.23 W. lying south of
the Minn, Western R.R. and southeasterly of the Great North-
ern R.R. The request was for recommendation of 4 tracts.
The matter was tabled9with the request that Tract A,contadn-
ing low ground,be divided between tract B and C, and that a
road be shown on the RLS -blat.
Thorpe Bros.— Subdivision ;'o-,li
Thorpe Bros.Realty Co.submitted a request for recommen-
dations on a proposed subdivision of a portion of the S.-j of
Sec.3,T.118,R.23W. The Commission expressed concern for access
control along Orono Rdo#879 and also questioned the two cul-
de—sacs. The matter was tabled pending a site examination on
Sat.,Nov.3rd.
Baltuff— Building Permits
Mr. Chester Lind of Smaby,Bermel & "Cappy" Jones Realty
Co. was present representing Mrs.Irving L. Baltuff re bldg.
permits on lots 27 &: 29,Tonkaview Gardens (Wildhurst Trail).
Width of the lots at setback line,approx.80 ft. The matter
was tabled pending a field visit Nov-3rd.
C.R.Quady— Vacation of Alley
C.R.Quady requested approval of vacation of the alley
between Lakeview Ave. & Tonka Ave.,B1k.1,Maxwell °s Addn.to
Crystal Bay. It was moved by Curry,seconded by Halperin,that
the vacation by recommended,but the Village to retain the
right of utility easements. Motion carried.
Detachment
It was moved by Searles,seconded by Curry,that Lots 1,
2,3,B1k.4 and 1.2,3,B1k.5 in Streeter °s Spring Park Addn.
be recommended for detachment as per petition,for possible
annexation to Spring Park. Motion carried.

Area Studies
The Clerk was asked to contact Jim Hawks of the Mid-
west Planning and Research Co.and request his presence at
the next regular meeting,the third Thursday of November
(Nov ,,1511.962) Mr. Hawks will be asked to outline what
planning services his firm can provide in the study of the
commercial areas of Brown's Bay9Maxvrell Bay and Navarre
Attention was called to the next meeting of the palest
