REGULAR MEETING OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />VILLAGE OF ORONO APRIL 159 1963 <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman D.J. Russell <br />at 7:40 P -D16 with the following members present: Vim.A. Curry# <br />H. S. Ricer D. S. Cleveland and K. Turnham. Absent- .R.L.Searles, <br />H. M. Boldon. W .W.Wolfe2Vim.T.Mills,R.C.Bagley and D.J.Boll. <br />Mr. and I:�rs A.J.Tourangeau and J.V.Spates were present re <br />a commercial dock license for 1963• The Couunission advised them <br />that this was a matter for the Village Inspector and Council to <br />decide. <br />Edna E.Guindon was present requesting recommendations rela- <br />tive to a 3.2 beer license for the property formerly known as the <br />Lighthouse9Brown's Bay. Her plans were reviewed by the Commission. <br />Village Inspector Turnham reported findings he and Police Chief Ross <br />had made in a recent inspection of the premises. The problems of <br />parking and sewage disposal elicited a negative recommendation by <br />the Commission. <br />It was indicated that a study of the general area would be <br />undertaken as soon as the Navarre study was nearer completion. <br />Hampton Hills8 Tuma Construction Co.: The question of access <br />to the Winslow property beyond Hampton Iiills was satisfactorily <br />answered by the new preliminary plans. The :natter of sewage dis- <br />posal would be determined on the merit of each individual lot. ,�Iq <br />The new plans were found to conform to the suggestions of the <br />Commission. On the question of dockage the consensus was that only <br />the two Lakeshore lots should be permitted dockstand that there <br />probably should be a covenant to this effect in the final plans. <br />It was moved by Rice that recommendations for approval be <br />madegsubject to working with Engineer Mills to see that the <br />access road was properly built. Motion seconded by Cleveland and <br />carried. <br />Recommendations re the Sandy Beach area are to be presented <br />at the next meeting by a committee made up of Rice.Curry and <br />Turnham. <br />The Navarre study was discussed at some length. The Commis- <br />sion was informed that Jim Hawks was ready to report at a meeting <br />of the Navarre Businessmens Assn. at a date to be announced by <br />its ChairmantGeorge Scherven. <br />K. Turnham brought up the problem of private dockstrecomd <br />mending some sort of control of same. <br />Meeting adjourned at 9 :35 P.M. <br />S. B. Belt,Sec. <br />
