HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-16-1964 Planning Commission MeetingMINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING PLANNING COMMISSION VILLAGE OF ORONO NOVEMBER 16,1964 Chairman D.J.Russell called the meeting to order at 7 :45 P.M. The following regular members were present: Wm.A.Curry, D.W.Judkins,W.W.Wolfe and H.S.Rice;ex- officio members: K. Turnham. SUBDIVISION- JOSEPH BRAFF Mr.Braff requested recommendations on a division of Lot 219Shorehills into two parcels of approximately 25,000 sq.ft. each. In its meeting of Sept.22,1960 the Commission recommen- ded a subdivision of the entire Braff property into "not more than four lots ",Lot 21 being one of these four. The Commission asked Mr. Braff to find out if his deed contains a covenant regarding further subdivisionsaand also to attempt to determine the reactions of property owners in the immediate area to the present proposal. STUBBS BAY RESORT - ORVILLE KIEREN Mr.Kieren was present requesting information on the fut- ure status of his plans for developing Stubbs Bay Resort which is presently on a non - conforming use basis in a Resi- dential zone.The Ordinance concerning non - conforming use was explained to him and he was told that the resort problem was being studied among others in the proposed Zoning Ordinance, SUBDIVISION - ELEANORA PUTNAM The Commission studied and discussed a plat submitted by Mr.Gordon Coffin for a proposed subdivision of Lots 6 and 7. Townsite of Langdon Park,owned by Mrs.Eleanora Putnam. It was moved by Judkins,seconded by Rice,that this,or a similar plan, be recommended for approval. Motion passed. REZONING OR DETACHMENT- DONREED PROPERTIES JNC. Letters dated Sept.22 and Oct 28,1964 addressed to the Village Council by Donreed Properties,Inc.were read by the Chair.The first of these letters requested investigation in- to the possibility of rezoning or detaching an eleven acre tract 111 ft.in width,bounded by the Brown Road on the west and the Village of Long Lake on the south.The second letter was a request for detachment only. Judkins moved that the Commission go on record as oppos- ed to either action. Wolfe seconded the motion and it carried. SUBDIVISION - HERMAN OLSON The proposed subdivision of the Herman Olson property on Loma Linda was reviewed. The matter was tabled for con- sideration at the next regular meeting,December 21st.
