HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-08-1964 Planning Commission MeetingMINUTES OF FwGULAR MEETING ORONO PARK COMMISSION JULY 8, 1964 The organizational meeting of the Orono Park Commission was held July 8 at the home of Dr. Panuska. Present were Mrs. Lehman, Dr. Panuska, Mr. Dongoske, Mr. Dorrel and '•'![r. Boll. Dr. Panuska acted as temporary chairman. h1loti.on made and seconded that Roberts Rules of Order be adopted for all procedure. Motion made and seconded that after January, 1965, officers are to be elected to serve for a period of one yearn PIotion made and seconded that the following officers be elected to serve until January, 1965. Dr. Hal Panuska, Chairman Robert Dorrel, Secretary Motion made and seconded that minutes of each meeting will be presented to the Commission at subsequent meeting for approval, after which they will be submitted to the Village Council for publication. The balance of the meeting was taken up with a discussion of the aims and purposes of a Park Commission. The various suggestions which had been presented by the Village Council at an earlier meeting were discussed and as a result three committees were set up to investigate and report on �1� neighborhood -type parks, (2) recreation area parks, and 3 natural preserve areas. It was suggested that the firm of Bauer and Associates be in- vited to the next meeting so that they might discuss with the Commission the part which their firm can contribute to Park Commission endeavors.
