In the absence of both Chairman and Vice Chairman, K.
Turnham called the meeting to order at 7:40 P.M. The
following regular members were present: A.K. Simonson,
H. S. Rice, D. S. Cleveland and Do .r. Judkins;ex-officio
members H. L. Searles, K. 'Turnham, Wm. T. I1.111s and D.-J.
Boll.

The request for a :special use permit for a golf driving;
range on a 19z acre site owned by Les Davidson, referred
to the Planning Commission by Council for study and recommend-
ation, ,net with the opposition of some 15 or 16 residents
present and a petition of opposition carrying 14 signatures.
After hearing the arguments of both proponents and opponents,
-tho Cohmgission took the matter Under advisement. The site will
be examined at 2 :00 P.I.I. Saturday a February 22nd, and re-
commendations vri.11 be made at -the next regular moeting T.Iarch 16.
SUB_:IVI;J'ION -M. Lagerquist
The request of Mr. Lagercluist for a .1- .bdivision of Block 3,
Winship Division, Casco Point, as referred to the Cormni ssion-
for study and recommendation, was tabled pending examination
of the site.
SUBDIVISION-- Balt.zrff
The request of P:ir. Baltuff for reeotmendati on on creating
two building sites on Lots 27, 28 and 29, Tonkavieir Gardens,
referred to Planning Conunission by Council, was also tabled
pending examination of the site,,,
CLARIFICATION of H.1,001,11- JNDATIONS
R.-L. Searles requested clarification of the status of the
driveway easement for the subdivision of Lot 15, Auditor °s
Subdivision #229. The Commission explained that their intent
was to designate that the easement satisfy Village require-
ments -;;,s to width while serving as a, private driveway. andd,
not as to construction specification until such a. time as
it is .taken over by the Village. The recommended width was 60. ft.
FLOOD PLAIN ZONING
R.L. Searles introduced the matter of problems raced by
Council relative to the water areas in property up for sub=
division or other considerations. Hice moved a committee made
up of R.L. Searles, ,gym.. T. Idlills and i3. J. Boll. be Net up,
to study the matter and submit recoim- .iondations. The motion
was seconded by Cleveland and carried.

The progress of recorlmcndations concerning; a new Zoning
Ordinance was discussed and it was generally agreed tha-;k-,
the study should be broken d own and its component parts
placed in the hands of various committees in order to facilitate
its progress.
STANDING 001:14ITTJIuS
The suggestion of D. J. Doll -that various standing committees
be created met Frith favorable response. It was thought that a
standing committee for viewing and reporting on sites would
be particularly useful since it could act on Council referrals
immediately- and report at the next regular meeting of the
Commission, thus preventing con6iderable delay.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned
at 10:02 P.H.
