CITY OF ORONO <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> G` NO. 6 9 9 5 <br /> @SH04� <br /> A RESOLUTION TO RECITE THE PLEGE OF ALLEGIANCE AT ALL ORONO <br /> PUBLIC MEETINGS <br /> WHEREAS, many generations since the formation of this Nation, including Orono, <br /> have lived,worked, and died to provide and protect the privileges of liberty and justice we value; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS,the Orono City Council is the legislative body that governs its City and <br /> represents the people of Orono at the closest level and respects those principles of liberty and <br /> justice for all in its deliberations; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America is a <br /> statement of respect for the values of liberty and justice for all that was written expressly for use <br /> at public meetings; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America is an <br /> appropriate expression of patriotism that cuts across political lines and unifies us in our goals and <br /> purposes; <br /> THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED: <br /> That the City Council of Orono, Minnesota hereby supports and endorses the recitation of <br /> the Pledge of Allegiance at all Orono Public Meetings. <br /> Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono this 8'day of July, 2019. <br /> Dennis Walsh, Mayor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> rj��� <br /> Anna Carlson, City Clerk <br />
