Re: Use of Septic Tanks for Drainage Discharge
Dear Mr. Menge:
John Day has informed this department of your desire to use the existing septic tanks for sump
pump drainage. The City of Orono requires unused septic tanks to be filled in to prevent them
from caving in and becoming a hazard at a later date. The City would allow you to fill the tanks
with rock and use it for sump pump discharge.
Please arrange for an inspection when the tanks are being filled. If you have any questions, feel
free to contact me at my office.
