HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-29-1981 Board of Review Reconvened Minutes w � , �� 2ND RECONVENED MEE'�ING OF THE 1981 ORONO BOARD OF REVIEW The 2nd reconvened meeting of the Orono Board of Review was called to order by Mayor Van Nest, June 29 , 1981, at 7: 30 p.m. Councilmembers present were: Paurus and Hannah. Absent were Councilmembers Hurr and Butler. Appearing before the Board were: l. Henry Kingman 1185 Ferndale Road West Property I.D. 02-117-23 43 0014 02-117-23 43 0017 i4r. Kingman thanked the Board for again giving him the opportunity to appear before them. He stated he still felt the land value was too high. Discussion fallowed as to the lakeshoxe values in other communities. Motion by Paurus seconded by Hannah to lower the total land value to $135 ,000 and leave the partial building value at $4 ,000. Motion passed. 2. Bruce Curtiss 1920 Fagerness Point Road Property I .D. 17-117-23 23 0014 The Mayor gave the results of the County' s revaluation to the Curtiss' . The County had recommended $12 , 000 land and $1,000 building total $13,000 . The Mayor suggested that this lot be combined with their homestead parcel. Mr. Curtiss had an appraisal from Century 21. The Mayor cautioned Curtiss that the lot his house is on is undersized and any building improvements or additions could be disallowed because of lack of area. P-Sotion by Van Nest seconded by Paurus to accept the revaluation by tne County, land $12 ,000 building $1,000 total $13 ,000 or if the lot is combined with the homestead parcel tomorrow the value of the land would be $6 ,200 and building $1, 000. The Curtiss rec�uested time to think this offer over. The Board agreed to table the motion while the Curtiss ' made up their minds. The Board proceeded wa.th the following items: 3. Alvin Nelson 2445 Dunwoody Avenue Property I.D. 20-117-23 22 0011 Mr. Nelson asked the Board if Hennepin County thinks the Orono Assessor was too lenient? Paurus told him "we have been satisified that the increase was not only in Orono lakeshore. " The Mayor stated they did feel that Orono lakeshore was low compared to other communities. No action. 7. Dr. Ahmad Nakib 3393 Crystal Bay Road Property I .D. 17-117-23 44 0020 Motion hy Van Nest seconded by Paurus to accept the revaluation by Fiennepin County as follou�s: $115 ,100 from $125, 800 Motion carried. 8. Curtiss' said they would go to the City Administration office after the meeting tonight and sign the combination request.
