MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING <br />HELD FEBRUARY 11, 1991 <br />ROLL CALL: <br />The Council met on the above date with the following members <br />present: Mayor Barbara Peterson, Councilmembers J. Diann <br />Goetten, Edward Callahan, and Gabriel Jabbour. The following <br />represented the City Staff: City Administrator Mark Bernhardson, <br />Building and Zoning Administrator Jeanne Mabusth, Public Works <br />Director John Gerhardson, Assistant Planning and Zoning <br />Administrator Michael Gaffron, City Attorney Thomas Barrett, City <br />Engineer Glenn Cook, and City Recorder Laurie Scheffler. Mayor <br />Peterson called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />CONSENT AGENDA* <br />Goetten requested that items #27 and #29 be removed from the <br />Consent Agenda. <br />Jabbour indicated that he also wished to discuss item #27. <br />Mayor Peterson requested the removal of item #13A, in <br />addition to items #27 and #29. <br />It was moved by Callahan, seconded by Peterson, to approve <br />the Consent Agenda, with the exception of items #13A, 27 and 29, <br />which were removed and discussed in the order appearing on the <br />Agenda. Motion, Ayes -4, Nays -0. Motion passed. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES* <br />It was moved by Callahan, seconded by Peterson, to approve <br />the minutes of the Special Meeting held January 7, 1991. Motion, <br />Ayes -4, Nays -0. Motion passed. <br />It was moved by Callahan, seconded by Peterson, to approve <br />the minutes of the Regular Council Meeting held January 28, 1991. <br />Motion, Ayes -4, Nays -0. Motion passed. <br />SENIOR CITIZEN'S PRESENTATION <br />Ms. JoAnn Kvern, a representative of Senior Community <br />Services, presented Council with information about the Agency and <br />the programs its provides. She said, "The City of Orono has <br />supported a series of Senior programs since 1982. I have <br />outlined those programs in this report. In 19.82, the City gave <br />its support to a program called 'Westonka Counseling for Older <br />Adults'. That program is now called 'Senior Outreach'. In 1984 <br />Orono gave its support to the Westonka Senior Center, and now, in <br />1991, the City has offered its support to the Long Lake, Orono, <br />Medina Senior Center. We thank you for your support." Ms. Kvern <br />introduced Ms. Cathy Bailey. <br />Ms. Bailey introduced Jim and Verna Mulvaney, Audrey Overby, <br />from the Long Lake, Orono, Medina Center, and Dottie O'Brien, <br />Board President for the Westonka Center. <br />- 1 - <br />
