The plans are dated 2-7-12. We have the following comments with regards to engineering matters: • The plan is acceptable from an engineering standpoint. • The site is relatively flat, but the drainage patterns shown by arrows on the plan are achievable. We recommend that the city verify the proposed drainage patterns are constructed prior to final site restoration. • The as-built plan should clearly show that the proposed drainage patterns were constructed. • This project will disturb more than 100 CY of material. Sediment and erosion control information meeting the requirements of Orono's City Code 79-7(c)(2) must be submitted. The minimum $2000 sediment and erosion control financial security should be required of the owner for this permit. After seven days of letting the herbicide take effect,the dead turf will be removed with a sod cutter or a mini excavator. After the turf is removed the top couple inches of soil will be loosened up. The Garden mix will be added during this process. After the soil is leveled out,the 2 different seed mixes will be broad casted in. Then the seed will be raked into the soil &the straw will be applied to the surface of the soil to prevent erosion. The soil needs to be kept moist till the seed germinates and a water schedule set up their after. The estimated wetland boundary shown on the certificate of survey dated 9/26/11 was reviewed in the field on 12/8/11 and was found to be adequate for determining the extent of wetland buffer. The location of the upslope edge of the wetland buffer shown on the certificate of survey is acceptable. Buffer Yegeta6on Aequirom" There is a small portion of the buffer that is currently turf. The turf area will need to be restored to native vegetation. A plan that provides the location of seeding, proposed native seed mix to be seeded and method of site preparation and seeding should be provided. According to the ordinance Div. 3 Sec. 18-1605 (3) the seed mix must contain at least 12 pounds (PLS) per acre of native prairie grass seed and 5 pounds (PLS) per acre of native wildflower seed. The grass mixture must contain a minimum of four species while the wildflower mixture must contain a minimum of five species. Once the native vegetation is established the buffer area will not be allowed to be mowed unless it is for maintenance after October I S. Our preliminary review indicates your application is incomplete. Additionally, an additional escrow and escrow agreement specific to the wetland buffer seeding are required. Permits involving wetland buffer establishment/improvement require review by the City's engineer Wetland Specialist and require submittal of a Wetland Buffer Establishment escrow and an escrow agreement. Also clean the vertical reglets on both sides to at least 1" above the gasket reglets on the horizontal member. P-1135 water diverter Sealant 3D view of a water diverter • When the surfaces are dry, butter the underside of the P 1135 with sealant and press the diverter to the horizontal in the glazing pocket. • Pump sealant into both vertical gasket reglets, and seal the edges of the diverter on all sides EXCEPT the edge facing the pocket. You must avoid getting sealant in this area in order to allow the system to drain. • Seal the joint between the vertical and horizontal members from the diverter to the top of the horizontal gasket reglet. Page 42 of 44 14000 Series—Revision December 01,2009 v< 1 Step #2: Seal and anchor the flashing • At jamb conditions attach a P1153 end dam to the end of the sill flashing with two 5196 screws and seal the sill flashing to the end dam as shown in the illustration on page 36. • Butt the flashing up against the back of the doorjamb(if present)and seal the flashing to the back of the entrance frame as shown in the illustration below. • Place shims (not by Tubelite)under the flashing as needed to support the flashing and level it. • Drill holes for anchor bolts through the flashing and into the masonry, and secure the flashing with bolts, as specified in the approved shop drawings. • Cap seal all anchor bolts with silicone sealant. Step #2: Install the glass • Position the glass in the frame. • Raise the glass off the bottom horizontal, and place a setting block(P-1132) at each quarter point(2 setting blocks per light). • Lower the glass onto the setting blocks. Step #3: Cut and install the exterior gaskets • Cut the exterior vertical gaskets to D.L.O. + 1"+shrinkage allowance (see page 43). • Install the exterior vertical gaskets. The vertical gasket should start 1/2" above the surface of the upper horizontal, and should extend 1/2"below the surface of the lower horizontal. • Apply butyl sealant to the vertical gaskets where the ends of the horizontal gaskets will contact them. • Cut the exterior horizontal gaskets to D.L.O. +shrinkage allowance (see page 43). • Install the exterior horizontal gaskets, pressing their ends into the butyl sealant and up against the vertical gaskets. Step #4: Seal perimeter of installation • Insert backer rod into the gap between the frame and the building substrate on top, sides, and bottom of the installation. • Apply sealant to fill the void. • Tool the sealant smooth.
