Dear Ben:
In passiiig your property, staff noticed you have begun to fill a ditch along side of your
neighbor's driveway. This letter is to notify you of zoning code requirements involved in such
a project. First a permit is required for any filling. City staff can issue a permit for up to 100
cubic yards of fill, anything in excess of that amount requires Council approval. The City of
Orono also prohibits filling with anything but clean fill. Therefore the City must require you
to remove the concrete from the ditch and apply for a grading permit if you wish to proceed
