Dear Neighborhood Residents;
A pressure se«-er system is current��: beina installed in your neighborhood. This sewer system is
available for hookup by neiahborhocd resieznts on a voluntary basis at this time. You can continue
to use your eYisting septic s�-stem u-71 the s�-�m fails or is required to be replaced because of it's
nonconform.ina status. The present c�adline ror the replacement of non conforming septic systems
is 2010. A conforming septic syst:m ca� continue to be used until it either fails or is rendered
nonconformina by future septic re=:'_atio�_
The se«-er connection fee is current::58,�00 and will be adjusted for inflation on an annual basis.
This connection fee can either be p�:-?before connection to the se�-er system or be assessed over a
1�-y-ear time period at a 6.2�% anni;:1 inter�-t rate.A signed assessment waiver will be required if
you request to be assessed for the ce�:nection fze.
In addition to the connection fee,the:;, is a o�e time SAC fee of$1,27�. This SAC fee increases on
an annual basis and is payment for t�e additional costs of the future downstream capacity in the
Metropolitan Council Sew�er Syster.
This pressure sewer system requir:s tha� r�ch property owner in;tall and maintain their o�vn
indi�•idual arinder pump station. A"Fro��iz-e cavity"grinder pump«711 be required,and the City
needs to appro�-e the pump that will te inst�� to ensure compatibilit�•wzth the sewer system. The
estimated property owner costs for L:e `�der pump station, service connection, and septic tank
abandonment can range from 57,000 to S 1�_000 depending on the leng-th of the service connection
required. The City's current flat rate user c�.Me for residential se«-er is approximately $90.00 per
quarter.

In the event that you are considering connection to the sewer system now, it may be cost effective
for you to hire the contractor who is working on the City project to directionally bore in your service
line from the curb stop at the street Right of Way line up to your grinder pump station location.This
will allow for an easier hookup for the licensed plumber who installs your grinder pump station. The
contractor completing this project is Red Pederson and he can be reached at 612-803-0547.
