This sewer system is <br /> available for hookup by neiahborhood residents on a�-oluntary basis at this time. You can continue <br /> to use your eYisting septic s��stem until the s�-stzm fails or is required to be replaced because of it's <br /> nonconformina status. The present deadline for the replacement of non conforming septic systems <br /> is 2010. A conforming septic system can continue to be used until it either fails or is rendered <br /> nonconformi.n� by future septic regulations_ <br /> The se«-er connection fee is currently 58,�00 and will be adjusted for inflation on an annual basis. <br /> This connection fee can either be paid before conneetion to the sewer system or be assessed over a <br /> 1�-y-ear time period at a 6.2�% annual intere�t rate. A si�ned assessment waiver will be required if <br /> you request to be assessed for the connection fee. <br /> In addition to the connection fee,there is a one rime S�C fee of$1,27�.This SAC fee increases on <br /> an annual basis and is payment for the additional costs of the future downstream capacity in the <br /> Metropolitan Council Se�•er System. <br /> This pressure sewer system requires that each pro�rty owner install and maintain their own <br /> indi��idual arinder pump station. A"proQrzssi�-e cavit�-"arinder pump w-ill be required,and the City <br /> needs to appro�•e the pump that will be install� to ensure compatibilit}•wzth the sewer system. The <br /> estimated property owner costs for the grindzr pump station, service connection, and septic tank <br /> abandonment can range from�7,000 to �12,000 dependina on the lenath of the service connection <br /> required.
