This sewer system is <br /> available for hookup by neiahborhood residents on a voluntary basis at this time. You can continue <br /> to use your eYisting septic system until the s�-stem fails or is required to be replaced because of it's <br /> nonconformina status. The present deadline for the replacement of non conforming septic systems <br /> is 2010. A conforming septic system can continue to be used until it either fails or is rendered <br /> nonconfonning b�- future septic regulations_ <br /> The se«-er connection fee is currently 58,�00 and will be adjusted for inflation on an annual basis. <br /> This connection fee can either be paid before connection to the sewer system or be assessed over a <br /> 1�-y-ear time period at a 6.2�%annual interest rate.A signed assessment waiver will be required if <br /> you request to be assessed for the connection fee. <br /> In addition to the connection fee,there is a onz rime SAC fee of$1,27�.This SAC fee increases on <br /> an annual basis and is payment for the addiuonal costs of the future downstream capacity in the <br /> Metropolitan Council Sewer System. <br /> This pressure se�s-er system requires that each property owner install and maintain their own <br /> indi�•idual�rinder pump station. A"proQressiz-e cavity"grinder pump will be required,and the City <br /> needs to approi-e the pump that will be install� to ensure compatibilit}�with the sewer system. The <br /> estimated propem- owner costs for the grindzr pump station, service connection, and septic tank <br /> abandonment can range from 57,000 to 512,000 depending on the lenath of the service connection <br /> required.
