Hennepin County Board Action Request (continued) """'"� � .°S <br /> Requesting Department Public Works Administration <br /> Recommendation from County Administrator Recommend Approval <br /> Committee Assignment Public Works, Energy& Environment Committee <br /> Background <br /> History: In 2011, Trinity Lutheran Church, 2060 Sixth Avenue North, Orono, approached Public Works <br /> for permission to update their landscaping and sign located within the right of way on County State Aid <br /> Highway 6. Permission was not granted because the request violated County Ordinance 22, County <br /> Road Right-of-Way Use. It was then determined that the proposed updates were located upon excess <br /> right of way which could be conveyed to Trinity Lutheran Church. Trinity Lutheran Church and Public <br /> Works agreed upon a segment of the excess right of way totaling 10,132 square feet that is not and will <br /> not be needed for future transportation purposes. <br /> Current Request: The excess right of way adjacent to 2060 Sixth Avenue North, Orono totals 10,132 <br /> square feet and the board is being asked to vacate this excess. Consistent with Hennepin County policy, <br /> Trinity Lutheran Church will compensate the county the market value of the land at$3,000. <br /> ImpacUOutcomes: The vacating of excess right of way will permit the county to dispose of land that is <br /> not needed for existing or future transportation purposes.
