THIS IS NOT A PERMIT. This is a design approval form which must accompany the site plan.
A permit must be issued to a licensed septic contractor prior to installation.
NOTICE TO INSTALLERS: Any changes to the approved plans must have prior approval of the
inspector (249-4600) Call for inspection 24 hours in advance.
ALL DRAINFIELD AREAS MUST BE FENCED OFF prior to building site excavation and
. fencing must remain in place until final site grading. Approval to pour footings will not be granted
until the Inspections Department has verified the primary and alternate sites are protected.
NO VEHICULAR TRAFFIC OF ANY HIND is allowed within 20'of tested drainfield sites ever.

This site h�s �n eaasting on-site sewage tt�9�tment system which is classified as failed by
the City of Orono due to not meeting th� required separation from the bottom of the
system and the saturated soil. The system is also an imminen# health hazard due to
surface discharging which requires a repair vr disconnected within 10 morlths.
This �n-Site Sewage Treafinent System is DeBigned ior a Type 'I, four bedroom home,
in acoordance with the Minnesvta Pollution �Qntrol Agency Chapter 7080 and local
Ordinances.
The sails on ti,is site are SCS sails mapped - HbC - Wayden loam. The seasonally
saturated soils were loc.�ted at 60" & f 6" (mottled soil) . The bottom of the treatrnent
area must be located at least 3' above the seasonally saturated soils. A Standard
Tr�ench System may be installed.
The existing tanks may be used if water tight and upon appro�a) ftom ths local
InSpectOr.

A pumping �hamber will n�ed to be installed to I'rf�the sep#ic effluent to the treatment
atea. The power supply and switches must be lacated outside the manhole and
pumping chamber in a we�ti�er proof enclosur�. A waming deviee must be installed with
a light and sound device, this is in case af a pump failure.
All neighboring weNs are 1dCated greater than 100' away from the proposed tfeatment
area.
Keep all heavy equipment off of the proposed tr�atm�r�t area bef�are and after
constru�tion. TF�e treatm�nt area should be marked off befo�e canstr�,ction. This
Design is r�ot valid & the system will need to be relocated if failure to protect the areas
propased for Qn-Site Sewage Treatment accurs.
With proper installatian and maintenance, this system should have no problem in
treating septic eTfluent efFectively.
Nothing other than hum$n waste, laundry, show�rs, etc. should be disposed ofi into the
septic t9n[cs. Gerbege disposals are not reoommended, due to adding more solids &
fine solids passing through to the system. Excessive amounts of saaps, anti-bact�rial
soaps, cteaning agents & chlorine agents may kiH the bacteria needed to treat septic
� efRuent. Additives are not recc�mmended.
