RE: RIPRAP, V91-6037 , LAKE MINNETONKA (27-133P) , SPRING PARK BAY
(#11) , CITY OF ORONO, HENNEPIN COUNTY
Dear Mr. and Ms. Rauschendorfer:
A review of our files indicates you were not notified, in writing,
of the results of a follow-up inspection of your property by
representatives of the DNR. This inspection revealed that the bed
of Lake Minnetonka had been satisfactorily restored to its original
cross-section and condition. Therefore, violation file V91-6037
has been closed.
It is important to remember in the future that any project
constructed below the ordinary high water level (OHW) that alters
the course, current, or cross-section of a protected water or
wetland is under the jurisdiction of the DNR and may require a
permit. Work done without a valid DNR permit is considered a
misdemeanor according t'o Minnesota Statutes 103G. For your
information, I have enclosed a brochure that summarizes the work
that can be done without a DNR protected waters permit.
You are further advised that the City of Orono, Minnehaha Creek
Watershed District, and the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers should
also be consulted regarding any future shoreline projects you may
anticipate.
Your cooperation in resolving this matter is appreciated. Please
contact Area Hydrologist Ceil Strauss at 772-7910 should you have
any questions.
Sincerely,
